David-Gareji Monastery particularly revered in Georgia. Come here Orthodox pilgrims and tourists from around the world. The complex of monasteries, stretching 25 kilometers along the slopes of the mountains, located in the immediate vicinity of the border Azherbaydzhanskoy. It was founded by St. David, one of the Assyrian fathers of the Enlightenment of the monks who lived in the VI century. St. David Gareji is revered by Orthodox as soon as assistant in the healing of diseases and infertility.
Martkopi village is one of the oldest settlements in the Caucasus. Archaeologists have found here the artifacts dating back to V-IV millennium BC. Today is a small village known as the site of one of the most famous and bloody battles of the Middle Ages, in which the Georgian militia defeated the Persian army of many thousands, and the place of residence of one of the Assyrian Fathers, St. Anthony Martkopi. In the VI century St. Anthony chose to place their abode, built a tall tower-stobl, and lived there as a hermit, praying to the Lord God.
